Karin and Christoffer, who rescued the village's haunted house

Delbekk Husmannsplass has a long history dating back to the early 1700s. When Karin Axelsen and Christoffer Hønsen stumbled upon the place on a dog walk in 2018, the house was falling apart and everyone thought it should be torn down. They bought it in January 2019 and restored it according to heritage conservation principles.

Today, 1,750 apple trees and 1,500 berry bushes have been planted. The aim is to produce cider with a love of tradition in every drop, both with and without alcohol.

The place shows lives lived, from the 1700s to today

The crofter's holding started out as two holdings and a place for craftsmen. In the 1800s they were merged into the smallholding we see today. In the 1960s and 70s activity declined and the house gradually fell into disrepair until Karin and Christoffer bought it. The house, possibly built in 1734, has now been restored according to heritage conservation principles. They have also relocated a storehouse (stabbur) from the 1700s from another site in the municipality.
