Lars Halvor and Even, grain farmers who care for the soil
Stokstad og Mangerud DA is a partnership between Lars Halvor Stokstad Oserud at Ringvoll and Even Kristian Mangerud, both at Algarheim just east of Jessheim. Together they farm 2,300 decares of grain, one of the largest joint grain operations on Romerike.
The flour they supply to Romeriksmat is locally sourced and made for those who care about good ingredients. Lars Halvor is also deputy mayor for the Centre Party in Ullensaker and a committed advocate for the protection of farmland and Norwegian agriculture.
From soil to flour, with BioRest and solar panels
The farm receives BioRest from Esval Miljøpark, which turns food waste from Oslo into biogas. The residual product is used as a natural fertiliser on the fields. In addition, Ringvoll has solar panels on the barn roof supplying electricity for its own use. Minister of Agriculture Bollestad visited their most recent threshing day, which says something about the standing Stokstad og Mangerud hold in Norwegian farming.
